Manchester United players Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw are all going to be out of Saturday’s game against Leicester City at Old Trafford
This development has occurred because of the injury crisis facing the club.
Ahead of the crunch game against Leicester Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jesse Lingard face late fitness tests to be involved.
With Diogo Dalot and Eric Bailly also out, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is severely depleted in a key game against one of United’s rivals for the top four.
United are in desperate need to turn their season around after failing to record a win since the opening day of the season.
Defeat to Leicester would leave them six points behind Brendan Rodgers’ side and well off the pace in the race to secure Champions League football.
Solskjaer claimed Pogba would need a miracle to recover from the ankle injury that ruled him out of joining up with France during the international break.
Martial is out with a muscle issue, while Luke Shaw has a strained hamstring.
Wan-Bissaka had to withdraw from England duty with a back issue and Lingard was also ruled with illness.
The spate of injuries are a major blow to Solskjaer, whose United side have recorded their worst start to a season since 1992-93.
The Norwegian said: “Well treatment room’s been busy and still is so we don’t really know who’s going to be available. There’s maybe Aaron, maybe Jesse and I think maybe that’s it from the ones that pulled out, but I can’t promise those two will be available either.
“Pogba won’t be fit unless he’s had a miraculous recovery overnight from yesterday to today or tonight to tomorrow. He’s not been ready to do 100 percent training.
“We hope more can be ready for West Ham next week and Paul and Anthony are in that category. I think they’ll be ready for then and can’t say more than that really.”
